The BBC reported today that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has started his very own blog. His inaugural article, posted Friday, is an autobiography.

He has also included a poll asking his readership if the US and Israel are trying to spark World War 3. That’s nice.

This is kind of funny (not “haha” funny, just funny) because Iran’s media control initiatives include what the BBC refers to as “one of the most sophisticated internet censorship programs in the world.”

When asked whether or not he thought this was ironic, Mahmoud threatened to wipe the questioner off the map.

On a separate but related note, German Chancellor Angela Merkel started podcasting a few months ago.
